Job Title : Chief Butler

Reports to : Director of Rooms.

Job Purpose

The Chief Butler is responsible for overseeing the butler service department, ensuring that all guests receive personalized and attentive service throughout their stay. This role involves managing a team of butlers, coordinating guest services, and maintaining the highest standards of hospitality to enhance the overall guest experience.

Responsibilities

  • Guest Experience Management

Ensure the delivery of exceptional butler services by maintaining high service standards and personalization.

  • Develop and implement initiatives that exceed guest expectations and enhance satisfaction.
  • Staff Coordination
  • Manage the butler team, ensuring they are well-trained and equipped to provide exceptional service.

  • Conduct regular training sessions to keep the team updated on service standards and hotel offerings.
  • Guest Preferences and Special Requests
  • Maintain detailed records of guest preferences, special requests, and dietary restrictions to enhance personalized service.

  • Coordinate with other departments to fulfill guest requests promptly.
  • VIP Services
  • Oversee the handling of VIP guests, ensuring seamless arrivals, departures, and personalized services throughout their stay.

  • Anticipate the needs of VIP guests and provide tailored experiences.
  • Operational Efficiency
  • Communication and Collaboration — Collaborate with department heads to ensure smooth communication and coordination across all hotel functions. Conduct regular briefings with butlers and service teams to share guest feedback and operational updates.

  • Operational Procedures — Regularly review and optimize operational procedures for the butler service to enhance efficiency and guest satisfaction; ensure adherence to hotel policies and procedures.
  • Financial Performance
  • Billing and Payments — Assist guests with inquiries related to billing for butler services and ensure accuracy in guest accounts.

  • Monitor and manage the budget for the butler services department.
  • Health, Safety, and Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security regulations relevant to butler services.

  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure that butler service areas are safe and welcoming.

  • Encourage team members to take initiative and demonstrate confidence in their roles.

  • Recruit, train, and supervise butler staff, providing guidance and support.

  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as a Chief Butler or in a similar role within a luxury hotel environment.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a commitment to high-quality service.
  • Familiarity with hotel management software and systems.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
  • Local market experience and understanding of Middle-Eastern hospitality preferences.
