About the role
We are seeking an experienced Investment Manager to join our client's insurance company in Riyadh. The role involves managing asset allocation, optimising investment strategies, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Key responsibilities include portfolio management across various asset classes, due diligence and oversight of third-party managers, and preparing recommendations for the Investment Committee. Candidates must have 10+ years of investment management experience, preferably in the insurance industry, with expertise in asset allocation, risk management, and regulatory frameworks. A CFA charter or progress towards it is strongly preferred. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
Portfolio Management
- Develop and implement investment strategies in alignment with the company's investment policy and risk tolerance.
- Manage asset allocation across various asset classes (fixed income, equities, alternatives, etc.) to optimise returns and manage risk.
- Monitor portfolio performance, conduct due diligence, and rebalance portfolios as needed.
- Analyze market trends, economic conditions, and regulatory changes to identify investment opportunities and risks.
Manager Selection & Oversight
Source, select, and perform due diligence on external investment managers.Monitor the performance of third-party managers, ensuring adherence to investment mandates.Maintain strong relationships with investment managers, conducting regular reviews and meetings.Investment Committee Coordination
Prepare materials and presentations for Investment Committee meetings.Present investment recommendations, performance updates, and market analysis to the committee.Implement decisions made by the Investment Committee.Regulatory Compliance
Ensure compliance with all relevant insurance regulations and investment guidelines.Stay abreast of regulatory changes and their potential impact on investment strategies.Reporting and Analysis
Generate regular investment performance reports for internal stakeholders.Conduct risk analysis and stress testing of investment portfolios.Contribute to the development and maintenance of investment policies and proceduresCandidate Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.7+ years of experience in investment managementCFA charter or progress towards CFA designation is strongly preferred.Specific experience in the insurance industry is strongly preferred.Strong understanding of asset allocation, portfolio construction, and risk management principles.Experience with fixed income, equity, and alternative investments.Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Languages
