Overview
The Logistics Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all logistics operations for construction projects, ensuring the efficient movement, storage, and delivery of materials, equipment, and manpower. The role involves developing logistics plans, optimizing site access and material flow, and coordinating with procurement, construction, and subcontractors to support smooth project execution. Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement logistics plans and strategies to support construction schedules and project requirements. Coordinate the timely delivery of materials, equipment, and resources to project sites. Manage site layout planning for storage areas, access roads, and delivery zones. Collaborate with procurement and suppliers to ensure proper transportation and delivery arrangements. Monitor inventory levels and ensure proper storage and material handling procedures. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards in all logistics activities. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, equipment, and logistics documentation. Identify and resolve any bottlenecks or delays in material supply and transportation. Support the preparation of logistics reports, including cost analysis and progress tracking. Coordinate with site teams to plan equipment movement and lifting operations efficiently. Liaise with government authorities or regulatory bodies when required for transportation permits. Contribute to the continuous improvement of logistics systems and workflows. Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. 3–7 years of experience in logistics or material management within the construction industry. Strong understanding of construction site operations and logistics planning. Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems (SAP or similar). Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and coordination skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Knowledge of local transportation regulations and logistics practices is an advantage. Based at the project site with regular coordination with procurement, warehouse, and construction teams. Involves field inspections and monitoring of logistics operations. Fast-paced environment requiring proactive planning and coordination.
