Scope of position As a Software Engineer – Core Systems, you will design, develop, and maintain critical software components and automation tools that support Acuative’s core production environments. Based in Riyadh, Saudi, this role covers the full software development lifecycle—from design and coding to testing, deployment, and operational support.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain software tools and applications using C, Perl, and Java.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, design technical solutions, and ensure high-quality delivery.

Troubleshoot and resolve application and system issues in development and production environments.

Participate in code reviews and enforce coding, security, and quality standards.

Maintain automation scripts, utilities, and data processing workflows.

Support system integrations, deployments, and environment management.

Identify and implement optimizations to improve system efficiency and performance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.

2–5 years of experience as a Software Engineer or Application Developer in a production or enterprise environment.

Hands‑on experience in C, Perl, and Java development.

Strong programming, debugging, and performance optimization skills.

Proficiency in Unix / Linux environments (shell scripting, compiling, process management).

Understanding of object‑oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.

Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and build tools (Make, Maven, Ant).

Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.

Basic understanding of networking, APIs, and system integration concepts.

Desired Skills

Experience in telecom or networking systems.

Familiarity with CI / CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.

Knowledge of Python or advanced shell scripting.

Exposure to Agile or DevOps environments.
