Mechanical Draftsman is responsible for preparing detailed mechanical drawings and layouts for design, construction, and fabrication purposes. The role involves converting engineering sketches and specifications into precise technical drawings using CAD and BIM tools while ensuring accuracy, compliance with project standards, and coordination with other disciplines.
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare detailed mechanical drawings, layouts, and sections for HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and utility systems.
- Develop shop drawings, as-built drawings, and installation details based on engineering inputs and site conditions.
- Coordinate with mechanical engineers and other drafting teams to ensure design consistency and constructability.
- Modify and update drawings as required to reflect design changes or site modifications.
- Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, standards, and client requirements.
- Prepare schematic diagrams, equipment layouts, and fabrication details as per design requirements.
- Assist in clash coordination and integration with architectural, structural, and electrical layouts.
- Maintain organized drawing records and revision histories.
- Ensure timely submission of drawings and documentation according to project schedules.
- Support the preparation of Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and assist engineers with drawing-related technical inputs.
Key Qualifications :
Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or Drafting.Minimum 5-8 years of experience as a mechanical draftsman in infrastructure, MEP, or industrial projects.Proficient in AutoCAD (2D and 3D); experience in Revit MEP or Navisworks is an advantage.Strong understanding of mechanical services layouts (HVAC, firefighting, water supply, drainage).Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and standards.Familiarity with international and local codes related to MEP systems.Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlinesVertical : Digital Engineering
