Overview

As the Director of Road Design at Qiddiya Investment Company, you will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of innovative and sustainable road infrastructure projects that support the company's vision of creating a world-class entertainment and cultural destination.

Responsibilities

• Lead (at Project level) the provision of transport data to inform system design for transport projects.
• Lead (at Project level) the phasing plan and capacity measurement of networks to determine when roads and transport systems need to be activated to meet development phasing.
• Lead Roads projects assigned by development; lead Parking projects assigned by development (e.g., park & ride, temporary parking, parking structures).
• Lead (at Project level) engagement with key stakeholders to ensure integration with regional mobility.
• Lead (at Project level) informing and testing development controls via Traffic Impact Studies at district, asset or precinct level.
• Lead all internal and external governance interactions, including approvals and stakeholder engagements with authorities or government agencies as required.
• Lead activities to undertake responsibilities, including consultant procurement, management and contract management, committee presentations, gateway approvals, etc.
• Lead preparations for opening and operational readiness scenarios specific to transport modes.
• Lead the preparation of impact assessments considering cost, time and quality impacts.
• Support other job families as necessary.
• Lead central road design resources (including roads, parking, bridges, structures) to support planning, design review and project development for master developers.
• Lead management of the adoption process for roads systems to National Champions, the Private Sector or Master Developer Operations.
• Support management of roads and transport planning digital information and datasets for the Digital Information team and ensure BIM and GIS integration with other platforms (e.g., Unreal Engine).
• Support shortlisting of road design consultants, including performance reviews and updates.
• Support strategic approaches to design consultant shortlists and risk management across all roads projects.
• Support the management of project programmes and the Implementation team (see implementation mandate).
• Support document control across roads and transport planning; support design management to ensure consistency and standardisation of policies and guidance.
• Support the implementation of smart elements and ITS elements across roads projects and district transport plans.
• Support the management of project survey data, environmental data and environmental approvals across all roads and transport planning.
• Support stakeholder interface across all roads projects, including briefs, implementation, sign-offs for gateways or governance approvals.
• Lead an integrated approach to project delivery, providing support where required.
• Coordinate inputs from teams to understand construction sequencing and input into programmes.
• Support handover of roads projects as necessary.
