Our client, a globally recognised Tier One main contractor, is seeking experienced Senior Planning Engineers to join their team in Saudi Arabia on one of the Kingdom’s landmark infrastructure programs. Overview : The role requires a planning professional with proven expertise in major civil engineering and infrastructure projects, preferably within the GCC.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop, implement, and manage fully resourced, logic-linked project schedules using industry-standard software (Primavera P6).
- Establish baselines, monitor progress, and prepare regular updates and forecasts.
- Ensure alignment of the construction program with project milestones, contractual requirements, and client expectations.
Coordination & Integration :
Work closely with project directors, construction managers, and discipline leads to ensure accurate planning input across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.Coordinate planning activities with subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers to maintain accurate and integrated schedules.Progress Monitoring & Reporting :
Track project performance against baseline programs, identifying deviations and proposing corrective actions.Prepare detailed progress reports, dashboards, and executive summaries for internal leadership and client representatives.Support project controls by linking schedule data with cost and resource management systems.Analyse project risks and develop mitigation strategies within the schedule framework.Evaluate and incorporate change orders, variations, and claims into the project program.Support forensic delay analysis and extension-of-time claims as required.Mentor junior planning engineers and provide technical guidance.Drive best practices in planning, scheduling, and project controls to enhance delivery efficiency.Contribute to lessons-learned reviews and corporate knowledge sharing.Candidate Profile :
Qualifications : Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.Experience : Minimum 12-15 years’ experience in planning, with at least 5 years in the GCC on major infrastructure / civil engineering projects (roads, highways, bridges, utilities, metro, or similar).Technical Skills : Advanced user of Primavera P6; strong understanding of cost / resource loading, earned value management, and delay analysis.Sector Knowledge : Proven track record in Tier One contracting environments; experience working to FIDIC or similar contractual frameworks is preferred.Personal Attributes : Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; able to interface confidently with senior stakeholders; resilient under pressure with a proactive, detail-oriented approach.Language : Proficiency in English is essential; Arabic language skills are advantageous but not mandatory.Seniority level
