The Purchasing Manager is accountable for leading and executing all purchasing activities related to Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO), capital expenditure (CAPEX), technical materials, and operational requirements. This role ensures the acquisition of high-quality goods and services to support plant reliability, operational excellence, and timely project delivery while driving cost optimization and compliance with company policies.
Responsibilities :
- Lead all purchasing activities for MRO spare parts, consumables, tools, and technical services to support plant operations.
- Collaborate with Maintenance and Engineering teams to ensure technical specifications are met.
- Build strategic relationships with OEMs and critical vendors to secure supply reliability.
- Manage end-to-end CAPEX procurement, including machinery, equipment, and high-value services.
- Coordinate with engineering and finance teams to align purchases with specifications, budgets, and timelines.
- Negotiate high-value contracts to secure favorable commercial and technical terms.
- Handle project-specific procurement, ensuring compliance with project requirements and timelines.
- Support project managers with procurement expertise throughout the lifecycle of projects.
- Monitor supplier performance, conduct audits, and implement development initiatives to strengthen supply chains.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives and adopt best practices to streamline procurement processes.
- Prepare and present purchasing reports, including savings achieved, supplier performance, and lead time metrics.
- Ensure strict compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory frameworks.
- Lead, train, and develop procurement and logistics personnel to foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the development of procurement, warehouse, and logistics policies, systems, and procedures to enhance operational consistency.
Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.6–8 years of experience in purchasing / procurement, preferably in industrial or technical environments.Experience with SAP or other ERP systems.Strong expertise in MRO, CAPEX, and project procurement.Proven ability to negotiate high-value contracts and manage supplier relationships.Knowledge of procurement regulations, compliance, and ethical sourcing standards.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on cost optimization.Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration with cross-functional teams.Strong organizational and project management skills.Effective communication skills in Arabic and English (written and spoken).Leadership skills with experience in training and developing teams#J-18808-Ljbffr
