Role Description
Site Manager water system
Job Purpose
The role of the Site Manager is to manage the overall O&M of WWTP, ETP UF RO & ZLD system and to ensure plant equipment availability at maximum for the equipment and instruments associated with Effluent Treatment Plant, Sewage Treatment Plant, ZLD (Zero Liquid Discharge plant- MVR).
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Accountable for the safety performance of the mechanical maintenance team – goal zero
- Plan, develop and implement necessary systems, including planned maintenance (condition based and time based), breakdown maintenance, and spares management for mechanical & electrical maintenance of the plant to meet agreed contract performance requirements within budgets and timescales
- Process optimization & improvements in plant operation
- Prepare SOPs, process check lists, training for site team, customer management, people management.
- Accountable for setting and managing the operation & maintenance budget
- Establish and regularly review KPIs as per contractual terms with client.
- Ensure O&M personnel have the skills and knowledge to perform their roles safely, efficiently and effectively
- Monthly report to Sr. Eng. Manager including key contract KPIs
- Liaise and communicate with peers in Steel and maintenance systems group as required
- Establish systems to ensure all mechanical / electrical & operation incidents and near misses (plant, equipment, safety and environmental) are reported and investigated for root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Manage all direct reports : recruit, train, evaluate, motivate, delegate and monitor their activities
- Performance review of direct reports
- Provide guidance, direction and development to subordinates, including setting performance standards
- Coaching, mentoring and helping others improve knowledge or skills
- Encourage and build mutual trust and cooperation among team members
- Use computers and computer systems (MS Office, MS Project, SAP etc.) for data entry, document creation and information processing
- Organize, plan and prioritize work, including scheduling activities based on priority, equipment availability and personnel skills
- Obtain information by observing, receiving and other methods
- Problem solving : identify problems, review information, evaluate options, implement solutions
- Understand relevant equipment, machines and tools (design, repair, maintenance)
- Understand overall operational process and its criticality of equipment
- Maintain and update technical knowledge and keep industry information current
- Communicate with management, peers and subordinates via phone, email or in person
- Initiate personnel actions such as hires, promotions, transfers, discharges and disciplinary measures
- Budget preparation, administration and documentation
- Understand principle of water quality : processes and techniques involved in maintaining water quality
