Job Description
Perform routine clinical laboratory tests in hematology, chemistry, immunohematology, microbiology, immunology and coagulation. He / she will have gained basic laboratory skills required for entry-level positions in these and other emerging laboratory fields such as molecular diagnostics. Perform additional responsibilities related to information processing, training and quality control within the laboratory.
Accountabilities
- Receives blood and body fluid samples at the lab reception and starts the pre‑analytical processing of the samples.
- Performs daily checks on equipment to ensure its safety and correct operability.
- Performs all analytical processes on the hematology, biochemistry, serology and hormone lab machines.
- Performs daily quality control tests on reagents.
- Analyzes blood cells by counting and identifying cells, using microscopic techniques and procedures.
- Performs microscopic preparation and examination of urine and stools.
- Maintains laboratory supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
- Conserves laboratory resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Informs medical staff of critical test results.
- Prepares reports of technological findings by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection‑control and hazardous waste policies and procedures.
- Maintains patient confidence and protects the hospital by keeping information confidential.

Education : Bachelor’s degree in Applied Medical Science (laboratory section).Experience : 2 years of practical experience following graduation.Computer skills : Office & Health Information System.Languages : English and Arabic (fluent speaking and writing).Seniority Level
