Job Summary
Bechtel is looking for a Senior CSA Engineer who has extensive experience with planning and executing greenfield and brownfield civil design projects across a range of technologies. Projects ideally include natural gas processing, refinery and petrochemicals, carbon capture and sequestration, solar and / or combined cycle power plants, hydrogen value chain, and onshore pipelines. The role focuses on planning, scheduling, and evaluating engineering techniques and criteria within a discipline on a project or staff group.
Major Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, coordinate and review complex engineering work within a discipline on large, complex projects, resolving conflicting design requirements and coordination challenges.
- Use Bechtel standard Application Programs (BSAPs) and appropriate CAD / CAE tools.
- Prepare specifications, bid evaluations and award recommendations for bulk CSA scope.
- Plan and coordinate independent work requiring judgement and experience; devise new approaches to technical problems.
- Work independently with guidance on unusual problems; provide technical direction to others as needed.
- Lead technical tasks over other engineers or project subgroups when delegated.
- Provide technical direction and assist work of subordinate engineers, designers, drafters, technicians, and others.
- Assist in the on-the-job training of assigned personnel and contribute to performance evaluations.
- Interact with vendors, project field personnel, and client counterparts to gather or provide information; prepare letters to vendors and clients.
- Contribute to conceptual studies, designs, reports or proposals; assist in cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and staffing for proposals and change orders.
- Review and check the work of subordinate engineers and support a work environment that fosters openness, trust, teamwork, and innovation.
Education And Experience Requirements
At least 10 years of civil / structural design experience in Petrochemical, Energy Transition or Oil and Gas industries.Experience executing Middle Eastern projects; brownfield experience; familiarity with Aramco.Strong knowledge of discipline engineering techniques, engineered systems, and design calculations.Pre-FEED and FEED experience in related project types.Familiarity with Mathcad or similar software to facilitate crossover to Bechtel standard design software.A recognized engineering degree or professional license in a related discipline.Mentor junior engineers, designers and drafters through on-the-job training.Required Knowledge And Skills
Strong knowledge of drainage layouts and earthworks for energy projects.Broad knowledge of industry codes and standards (e.g., Saudi Building Code, ACI, AISC, PIP).Experience with engineering design software relevant to the sub-discipline (e.g., STAAD, Civil Storm, SP3D, Smartplant).Understanding of interfaces with other disciplines and construction practices and economics.Effective oral and written communication; ability to work in global project teams.Ability to troubleshoot field or site issues and instruct others on resolutions.Ability to mentor junior engineers.Total Rewards / Benefits
