- Position Overview
- We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated
- HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) Officer
- to oversee the execution of projects in the Middle East region. Based in
- Jeddah
- , the HSE Officer will be responsible for ensuring that all company projects are executed in full compliance with
- Vanderlande standards
- , international HSE requirements, local regulations, and client expectations. The role specifically requires strong exposure to the
- Baggage Handling Systems (BHS) field
- , with frequent travel across project sites to provide leadership, guidance, and hands-on support to site teams.
- Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor the company’s HSE policies, procedures, and management systems across all active projects.
- Ensure compliance with
- Vanderlande standards
- , local laws, regulations, and international HSE standards.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and enforce safety practices.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and training for project teams, subcontractors, and workers to foster a strong safety culture.
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to integrate HSE planning into all phases of
- BHS project execution
- Prepare and present HSE performance reports to senior management and clients.
- Ensure emergency preparedness and crisis management procedures are in place and tested.
- Act as the company’s HSE representative during client meetings, audits, and external inspections.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall HSE performance.
- Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum
- 8–10 years of HSE management experience
- in large-scale projects, with proven experience in the
- Baggage Handling Systems (BHS) field
- or related automated logistics / infrastructure projects.
- Proven track record of managing HSE in multi-project environments within the Middle East.
- Professional certifications
- such as
- CSP (Certified Safety Professional), NEBOSH IGC / IDip, IOSH, OSHA
- , or equivalent are mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of international standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, OHSAS, etc.),
- Vanderlande standards
- , and local regulations in Saudi Arabia and GCC.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, travel frequently, and adapt to different project environments.
- Fluency in English (Arabic is an advantage).
