Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled
Chief Accountant
to lead our accounting operations and ensure financial excellence across the organization. This role oversees accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), financial reporting, and compliance, while transforming financial data into actionable business insights. The successful candidate will drive cost efficiency, implement strong internal controls, and lead a high-performing accounting team to support the company’s strategic objectives. Responsibilities
Oversee the entire AP and AR functions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies. Implement and maintain robust controls over the cash conversion cycle, optimizing DPO and DSO. Manage corporate credit cards, employee expense reimbursements, and vendor payment terms. Lead collection activities and manage aged debt effectively. Reconcile key AP / AR control accounts and lead the month-end closing process for these areas. Lead the month-end close process for accruals, ensuring expenses are recognized in the correct accounting period. Manage the prepaid expenses schedule, ensuring accurate amortization and classification. Oversee the company’s fixed asset register, including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and impairment reviews. Ensure compliance with IFRS for property, plant, equipment, leases, and intangible assets. Coordinate physical asset verification audits and reconcile results with the general ledger. Calculate and post monthly depreciation and amortization entries. Own the general ledger, ensuring integrity and accuracy of all financial transactions. Manage cash flow forecasting functions and provide timely reporting to management. Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Partner with IT to maintain and optimize financial systems (ERP) for accounting efficiency. Support Zakat and Tax team during filings and assessments. Provide financial insights and reports to leadership to support decision-making. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. Professional certifications such as
CMA, CPA, or MBA
preferred. 5–7 years of experience in financial analysis and accounting, preferably within a holding company or diversified business environment. Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis. Advanced knowledge of financial software and ERP systems (SAP-FICO preferred). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and in a team environment. Seniority level
