Engineer I, Quality Mechanical

Overview

Lead inspections and quality control for all mechanical works, including HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, piping, and equipment installation.

Prepare, review, and implement project-specific Mechanical Quality Plans, ITPs, and related QA / QC procedures.

Monitor welding activities, NDT testing, hydrostatic testing, and mechanical commissioning in compliance with ASME, API, and relevant codes.

Review and approve mechanical method statements, material submittals, and vendor data.

Supervise and mentor junior QA / QC engineers and inspectors on mechanical quality tasks.

Liaise with construction teams and client representatives to ensure compliance and resolve quality-related issues.

Ensure proper documentation, material traceability, inspection logs, and test records.

Initiate and manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), root cause analyses, and corrective / preventive actions.

Support audits, punch list closures, and final quality dossier submissions.

Promote a proactive quality culture and ensure continuous improvement in QA / QC performance.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in mechanical QA / QC roles, preferably in large-scale construction, oil & gas, or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of applicable standards (ASME, API, ASTM, ISO 9001).
• Experienced in interpreting drawings, specifications, and quality documentation.
• Familiar with QA / QC software and reporting tools.
