Saudi Arabia : Assistant Driller at H&P Job Summary : The Assistant Driller is responsible for assisting the Driller by undertaking tasks as assigned in an efficient and timely manner. To stand in for the driller during drilling / tripping operations and manage the drilling crew while considering the current company and job instructions as well as KCA DEUTAG quality and safety standards. Supervises and takes part in the order, cleanliness and housekeeping at rig site. Maintains the drilling tools and equipment. Supervises and helps the drilling crew to prepare equipment. Before rig move should order and supervise the loading of the rig equipment under the orders of the Tool Pusher and Driller. Supervises the correct storage of drilling equipment. Responsible for replacing the Derrickman at any time at the request of the Driller. Inspects the derrick / mast and equipment, records the inspections, reports and corrects the defects after approval by the Tool Pusher. Supervises the good maintenance of all the sheaves in the derrick / mast. Checks that the drill string is in good condition. Supervises the handling on the rig floor and especially when picking up or laying down drilling equipment. Can replace the Driller at the brake when pulling out, running into the casing or when drilling a non-productive zone. Is familiar with the client’s rules to control a kick and to apply them under the orders of the Driller. Performs any job requested by the Driller or the Tool Pusher as long as this job is within his competence. Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role within drilling operations. IWCF Well Control Certification or equivalent (Wellsharp). Banksman / Slinger certificate. Highly experienced and knowledgeable in their area of expertise. Ability to train, coach, mentor others, and facilitate learning amongst multinational crews. Generic Skills : Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Power Point & Outlook). Engaged and energetic leader, capable of changing culture and performance. Excellent oral and written skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Self-motivated with the ability to work alone as well as being part of a team. Seniority level
