JOB PURPOSE
- The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of all electrical systems and equipment within the resort. This includes ensuring compliance with safety standards, maintaining uninterrupted operations, and supporting the overall functionality of hotel systems.
- Assist the leadership team of Jayasom Amaala translate the Jayasom’s strategy into actionable Engineering programs, activities, and initiatives while ensuring the right structure and operational policies and procedures are in place.
- Lead the Engineering department, plan, overview and control the quality of technical work carried out by the engineering team, suppliers and contractors.
- Ensure the construction of the resort is completed properly and according to safety regulations and high-quality standards.
- Ensure that security and sanitary standards are applied and are in compliance with local regulations and resort’s standards.
- Ambassador of the company’s wellness and sustainability culture, promote its awareness amongst team members by leading by example and living a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

Build an effective Engineering team by proactively participate in their selection, training and development.Effectively manage the Engineering team by leading by example, provide a common vision and effective communication.Assign responsibilities to team members and ensure they are working towards completing their tasks and achieving resort objectives and high service standards by consistently provide the necessary support.Ensure team members have a complete understanding of their role, responsibilities and company expectations.Provide regular performance feedback to team members, coaching and counselling sessions as needed.Ensure team members consistently provide the highest service standards and are ambassadors of the company through their actions, and personal presentation.Celebrate successes and recognize the contribution of team members.Encourage team members to participate in meetings, trainings, committees and community relations activities and programs.Foster employee commitment to provide excellent service, participate in daily, weekly and monthly meetings and model desired service behaviours in all interactions with guests and employees.Ensure appropriate staffing levels throughout the department to manage labour costs while maintaining outstanding guest service.KEY OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, emergency systems, and control panels.Oversee the operation and preventive maintenance of electrical equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, pumps, motors, and kitchen equipment.Ensure all work complies with local electrical codes, hotel standards, and safety regulations.Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Kitchen, Housekeeping, Front Office) to support operational needs.Respond quickly and efficiently to emergency calls and guest requests related to electrical issues.Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and system inspections.Supervise external contractors during installation or repair projects when required.Support energy conservation efforts and recommend system upgrades for improved efficiency.Participate in routine inspections and report deficiencies.Stay updated on new technologies and best practices in electrical systems and safety.Provide support to the Head of Engineering in the set up and management of the department of the resort to ensure goals and objectives are achieved.Continuously assess and challenge the standards and quality of the construction of the resort, the facilities and equipment and report to the Head of Engineering and coordinate with contractors any concerns or action required.Oversee work assignments to ensure team members are performing to the required standards.Liaise with department heads to take corrective maintenance action when necessary.Manage all guests’ complaints, requests and enquiries concerning departmental services.Provide professional technical consultancy services to management regarding the repair and maintenance of existing buildings and facilities, and the renovation, extension or construction of new facilities.Create a quarterly maintenance schedule for the hotel to ensure regular upkeep of product are maintained at all times.Provide professional technical consultancy services to all departments regarding project planning for additions and improvements.Evaluate all energy systems, e.g air conditioning, electrical, and water for evaluation of potential upgrading, repair, maintenance or potential cost saving measures.Coordinate the required inspection of building facilities with government agencies.Coordinate and monitor the activities of contractors and subcontractors in the construction, repair, maintenance and renovation of buildings, equipment and facilities.Supervise the repair, maintenance and renovation of all existing buildings and facilities including the relocation of any facilities as required.Ensure the welcome areas are clean and tidy at all times.JOB REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or certification as a qualified electrical professionalWork Experience
