ILS Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated ILS (Integrated Logistics Support) Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in the maritime industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the long-term supportability, maintainability, and reliability of mechanical systems on our vessels. This role involves integrating logistics considerations into the design and development phases, as well as managing support elements throughout the vessel's lifecycle. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical engineering principles, coupled with practical experience in ILS methodologies within the maritime sector.

Key Responsibilities :

• ILS Analysis & Planning :

Conduct various ILS analyses, including but not limited to, Reliability, Maintainability, and Availability (RMA) analysis, Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), Life Cycle Cost (LCC) analysis, and Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) for mechanical systems.

Collaborate closely with design and engineering teams to influence mechanical system designs for optimal maintainability, accessibility, and supportability.

Develop and manage comprehensive technical documentation, including maintenance manuals, operating procedures, fault-finding guides, and parts catalogs for mechanical systems.

Determine optimal spare parts holdings and develop provisioning plans based on LORA, LCC, and operational requirements.

Liaise with equipment manufacturers and suppliers to ensure ILS data, documentation, and support deliverables are provided in accordance with contractual requirements.

Monitor in-service performance of mechanical systems, analyzing maintenance data and identifying trends to recommend improvements.
