Job Purpose : The main purpose of the Sales Engineer’s job is to conduct various Marketing, Sales, and Procurement activities at ROG. The functional group also support the Field services team for the development of field process, equipment, and logistical strategies to assure the service jobs are completed in a cost effective and efficient manner.
Principal Accountabilities
- Reports to the Sales & Services Manager.
- Accountable for setting and achieving the marketing and sales plans / budget.
- Support the Sales & Services Manager in developing partnerships in line with ROG’s sourcing objectives (marketing plan).
- Sources, pre-qualifies and registers potential suppliers / manufacturers to meet ROG’s clients requirements.
- Accountable for marketing ROG’s products and services to the clients in a very professional manner.
- Keep abreast of new product introductions and work on approving them with clients.
- Understand market and industry trends and their impact on technology advancement.
- Accountable for the timely management of the bidding process including review tendering documents, technical solution, tasks and schedules, escalation of issues for timely decisions, and the application of product and pricing policy.
- Defend the proposal in front of customers to support ROG.
- Conducts procurement of products while ensuring price competitiveness, quality, timing, and reliability of supply.
- Stays up to date and follows-up on the collection status.
- Maintains good relations with clients & suppliers and other third parties related to ROG’s operations, including resolving any disputes prior to escalating it to the Sales & Services Manager.
- Assists the Manager in developing and institutionalizing ROG’s expertise, know-how and capabilities.
- Inputs on and resolves difficult technical and commercial issues.
- Responds to client request and calls in a timely manner.
- Assists the Manager in identifying and tracking operational KPI’s and devising plans and initiatives for operational improvements.
- Support the field installation team for the planning of field services, equipment and logistical requirements.
- Accountable for preparing and submitting the weekly and monthly operation reports to the Manager.
- Coordinates with Logistics and Finance Dept. for the operation support.
- The job of sales engineer will require extensive local travel.
