SQL & Oracle Database Engineer

Artificial Intelligence & Data Talent Partner at Discovered MENA This position is open to Saudi nationals only

Fully on site, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Responsibilities

Administer Oracle databases in test and production environments.

Perform regular backups, restoration drills, and patch deployments.

Monitor performance and resolve standard incidents and alerts.

Maintain data replication and archival per policy.

Assist in upgrades, migrations, and documentation updates.

Implement high availability (AlwaysOn, clustering) and security.

Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server databases.

Perform backups, restores, and disaster recovery testing.

Monitor performance and implement tuning procedures.

Create and manage jobs, alerts, and scheduled maintenance plans.

Required Skills

Strong hands‑on with Oracle DB 12c / 19c, RMAN, Data Pump.

SQL tuning and PL / SQL scripting knowledge.

Backup and monitoring tools usage (OEM, TSM, or Commvault).

Familiarity with DR, clustering, and Linux OS basics.

Proficient in T‑SQL, SSMS, and SQL Profiler.

Experience in SQL Server HA / DR technologies.

Familiar with monitoring tools and PowerShell automation.

Awareness of IT compliance, auditing, and hardening.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Typically, 4+ years of relevant work experience in industry, with a minimum of 1+ years in a similar role.

Microsoft SQL Certifications (e.g., MCSA) preferred.

OCA / OCP certification preferred.
