Job Summary
The Assistant Driller supports the Driller in supervising drilling operations and rig floor activities to ensure safe, efficient, and effective drilling performance in compliance with company policies, operational procedures, and HSE standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Drilling Operations Management
- Assist the Driller in monitoring and controlling drilling operations in accordance with the drilling program.
- Supervise the rig floor crew and ensure that all drilling, tripping, and casing operations are conducted safely and efficiently.
- Maintain close communication with the Driller and other crew members to ensure smooth operation and problem-solving.
- Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of drilling equipment and machinery.
- Monitor drilling parameters and interpret data to assist in operational decision-making.
- Assist in coordinating equipment maintenance, inspections, and repairs as needed.
- Enforce safety procedures and participate actively in safety meetings and drills.
- Maintain accurate records of drilling operations and equipment performance.
- Stand in for the Driller during breaks or when delegated.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Driller or Rig Superintendent.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in drilling operations is an advantage.Minimum of 3 5 years of experience in drilling operations.Good knowledge of drilling equipment, tools, and techniques.Strong understanding of safety and environmental regulations related to drilling.Ability to work in a team and lead crew members effectively.Physically fit and able to work in challenging onshore environments.Onshore Rig Experience.Skills & Competencies
