WSP in the Middle East Job Description WSP Middle East is seeking a highly skilled Construction Manager responsible for managing all on-site activities, including storage, handling, loading, unloading, transportation, testing, construction, commissioning, interfacing, and implementation. The role ensures compliance with contract requirements, design specifications, applicable codes, and regulatory standards to guarantee quality and safety. The Construction Manager will coordinate with project stakeholders, including project managers, site staff, engineers, and contractors, to facilitate smooth project execution. Responsibilities Lead and manage the site supervision team. Oversee and direct construction projects from start to finish. Review project progress regularly and flag potential delays with mitigation plans. Ensure compliance with contract requirements, design specifications, codes, and standards for quality and safety. Participate in project planning, including scope, budget, and schedule development to meet milestones. Review site documentation such as method statements, installation drawings, and testing procedures. Assess feasibility studies and risk evaluations. Stay informed about applicable codes, local regulations, and industry standards. Collaborate with design teams to review drawings and technical documents, providing input to optimize systems. Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of project milestones. Raise NCRs for non-compliance issues and guide contractors to resolve them. Prepare progress reports, documentation, and as-built drawings for client review. Monitor interfacing issues between contractors to prevent rework. Provide technical support during construction and resolve issues or discrepancies. Investigate safety incidents and conduct regular safety inspections. Address technical queries and provide solutions during implementation. Cultivate a safety and professionalism culture within the team. Oversee maintenance activities and collaborate on project risk mitigation. Assist in training and mentoring junior staff. Qualifications Excellent project management and organizational skills. Minimum 15 years of civil engineering experience, focusing on OCGT / CCGT projects. Prior experience as Project or Site Manager on OCGT / CCGT projects. Strong experience in CCGT commissioning and testing, especially with GE / Siemens turbines. Leadership skills to manage teams and multiple priorities effectively. Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement. Proficiency in relevant engineering and project management software. Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability practices in CCGT projects. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
