Job Summary
The Bartender is responsible for the efficient and professional preparation, presentation, and service of beverages for banquets, weddings, catering functions, and special projects bar operations (FOH and BOH). The role ensures compliance with company standards, guest satisfaction, and legal requirements, while maintaining cleanliness, organization, and stock control.
Key Responsibilities
- The duty shift starts with inspecting the entire bar area for cleanliness, ensuring coffee machines, service counters, chillers, tools, and equipment are clean and in proper working order.
- Complete all internal checklists, including the daily cleaning log sheet, dry storage temperature and humidity record, freezer and chiller temperature checklist, FEFO / FIFO, and person‑in‑charge checklist.
- Receive and inspect all beverage and dry item deliveries, arrange them in proper storage locations, and update the product receiving checklist accordingly.
- Follow internal procedures for sanitizing fruits and vegetables and defrosting frozen goods, ensuring the defrost and sanitation checklist is accurately completed.
- Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and prepare bar setup as per event specification.
- Ensure all beverages, tools, and glassware are ready prior to service.
- Record the opening beverage stock to accurately track consumption at closing.
- Check equipment functionality and report to bar supervisor for any equipment issues.
- Collaborate with bar manager, supervisor, barbacks, and event teams for smooth operations and report shortages, breakages, and other needs.
- Keep bar areas clean, organized, and compliant with hygiene and safety regulations.
- Store all leftover and open products correctly with clear expiration labels and complete the closing stock checklist in accordance with FEFO / FIFO procedures for open products.
- Sanitize all equipment and bar tools after each event.
- Ensure all bar equipment and coffee machines are properly turned off, and all internal checklists are fully completed.
- Ensure the bar area is thoroughly checked before leaving work and seek assistance from the Steward or Housekeeping team if deep cleanliness is required.
- Report any operational challenges, stock issues, or guest concerns to the Bar Manager and Supervisor.
