Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Data Governance Consultant to join our expert team. This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia . The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of data governance frameworks and principles. You will play a pivotal role in helping our clients manage their data as a strategic asset, ensuring it is secure, accurate, and compliant, thereby supporting their broader digital transformation and strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement comprehensive data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and procedures for our clients.
  • Lead data governance assessments to identify gaps and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Establish and manage data stewardship programmes within client organisations, defining roles and responsibilities.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of data governance initiatives.
  • Advise on best practices for data quality, metadata management, data lineage, and data security.
  • Collaborate with client stakeholders to understand their business requirements and align data governance strategies with their organisational goals.
  • Provide expert guidance on data-related regulations and support clients in achieving compliance.
  • Conduct workshops and training sessions to foster a culture of data awareness and accountability across client organisations.
  • Support the integration of data governance principles into wider projects, including AI, enterprise architecture, and risk management.

Qualifications

  • Proven professional experience in a data governance, data management, or a similar consulting role.
  • In-depth knowledge of data governance frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK.
  • Strong experience with data quality management, metadata solutions, and data stewardship.
  • Excellent understanding of data privacy and protection regulations.
  • Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to manage senior stakeholders and work effectively in a client-facing environment.
  • A bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certifications in data management (e.g., CDMP) are highly desirable.
  • Previous experience within a professional services or consulting firm would be a significant advantage.
  • Fluency in both Arabic and English is strongly preferred.
