Qualifications : DAE Mechanical, DAE Instrumentation, BSC Mechanical Engineer, B.E Mechanical Engineering.

Responsibilities : Must be able to read blueprints, load the work piece (raw stock), set up the machine (load the drill and cutting tools), and operate the machine - usually a mill or a lathe. Editing the computer program is required. Some machinists can actually do the programming. Will have their own machinist tools, including precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.). Will be expected to hold close tolerances (accurate measurements) and may need to measure accurately to one ten thousandth of an inch (.0001).

Job Specification

Will use a computer-controlled machine to prepare (drill, cut, etc.) raw materials (Plastic, metal) for manufacturing into a final product. They will take a mechanical drawing, load the material, and set up the machine to produce the desired result.
