Job Function
As a Nursery Teacher, the purpose of this role is to act as a supervisor and to ensure children’s order inside the Nursery. One is required to provide safe, educational environments for children, take care of their basic needs, including dressing, and supervise play and nap times. Child caregivers typically work while having fun and enthusiastic personalities among all.
Responsibilities
- Perform Arabic, English, Islamic and Quran daily lessons (as needed).
- Handle children with care.
- Control the class in different ways to maintain stability among the children.
- Arrive on time for the first lesson starting at 8 AM to prepare the class well.
- Teach 1‑to‑1.
- Take photos on each lesson for each child showing progress.
- Add merits stars for good behavior; give a Star of the week to each child each lesson.
- Prepare, organize, and supervise mealtimes and snacks with the Teacher.
- Maintain professional and positive relationships with parents, children, and staff.
- Provide structure and accountability that is firm but compassionate.
- Encourage children to participate in all activities.
- Notify the Principal or Lead Child Care Consultant of any signs of emotional or developmental issues with the kids.
- Lead weekly Islamic interactive circle time including calendar, Duaa, story about the Prophet, and speaking with kids to develop language and confidence.
- Administer Islamic, Arabic, English and Quran monthly tests and skills assessment.
- Update the weekly plan with the theme of the week.
- Add Islamic, Arabic, English and Quran activities based on relevant themes.
- Supervise safety in the yard and ensure clean and neat areas.
- Assist with cleaning, ensuring all areas are cleaned neatly.
- Watch for special needs children (out of class or in the hall).
- Ensure Teacher Assistants open lunch boxes for the kids.
- Make sure ministry’s rules and regulations are met.
- Ensure break times for Teacher Assistants do not overlap.
- Ensure kids wash hands twice a day at minimum.
- Ensure all staff watch kids’ safety during playtime.
- Make sure special needs are taught while other kids receive food time and vice versa as needed.
Qualifications
