Overview
Safety Specialist role at Dr Sulaiman AlHabib Medical Centers. Responsible for preparing safety programs and providing safety related training; and construction location inspection and workplace oversight for the Hospital. Work is performed with considerable technical independence under policies and procedures established by an administrative superior. Work is reviewed through observation of results.
Responsibilities
- Perform job site safety compliance inspections including hazard analysis, safe work procedures, written reports and recommendations.
- Organize documentation as per set standards.
- Investigate incidents, injuries and hazards and implement approved control measures.
- Ensure timely completion of accident / injury reporting to Corporate Office.
- Coordinate the purchase, use, maintenance, inspection, testing and retirement of safety equipment; oversee investigation, documentation and proper follow-through of accidents or safety related incidents; administer safety awards, recognitions and incentive programs.
- Integrate department safety / health / risk management policies, procedures and programs.
- Prepare and update Materials Safety Data Sheet documentation for chemicals.
- Ensure optimum equipment function and report malfunctions.
- Schedule and manage periodic testing of fire suppression systems and fire alarm systems; oversee hospital evaluation and safety equipment. Instruct hospital staff in safe work methods, fire safety training and orientation, fire evacuation drills.
- Maintain records of all recommendations and actions taken to implement or correct safety and health procedures, accident prevention measures, unsafe practices and health hazards.
- Maintain a proper level of supplies within the Department.
- Assist in the emergency treatment of patients when needed.
- Observe infection control standards in policy documents, particularly with respect to sterile procedures.
- Participate in departmental Quality Assurance and Service programs.
- Maintain professional conduct and ethical relationships.
- Responsible for Quality Assurance testing of equipment on a regular basis.
- Participate in person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG and enrich patient experience with compassion, respect and dignity.
- Perform all other tasks / duties assigned within the realm of knowledge, skills and abilities.
Qualifications
Education / Professional Qualification : Bachelor’s Degree. Any discipline, preferably with Fire and Safety Training.Experience : At least 2 years’ experience in the same field.Certification / Licensing : Fire & Safety related certification.Employment details
