Job Summary Bechtel is looking for a Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer who has extensive experience executing greenfield and brownfield projects with a proven track record seeking technical / leadership challenges in Mechanical Rotating Equipment engineering. Keep knowledge of standard procedures, plan, develop, coordinate and review detailed engineering work using approved engineering procedures and practices. Provide technical support, mentor junior mechanical engineers, and support scoping documents, P&ID, HAZOP, and model reviews. Resolve construction and startup questions and issues.
Major Responsibilities
Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates detailed phases of engineering work for a global business unit usually in one discipline in a project or staff group.
Plans, coordinates and prepares equipment specifications, equipment datasheets, material requisitions, bid evaluations and award recommendations for rotating / packaged equipment.
Coordinates engineering efforts in assigned areas between specialty and other engineering groups or disciplines, with the client, suppliers, and contractors and between other groups.
When delegated, assumes a lead technical role over other engineers or project subgroups for completing specific tasks.
Communicates complex technical issues and recommends solutions to project engineering management.
Facilitates technical discussions with third parties (client, suppliers, regulators).
Reviews / analyses bids and makes technical recommendations.
Conducts reviews of vendor drawings, calculations and other documentation.
Prepares or assists in the preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports or proposals.
Prepares and / or assists in the preparation of cost estimates, quantity take-offs and equipment count for proposals, forecasts and change orders.
Reviews and checks work of subordinate engineers.

Education & Experience Requirements
Applicant must have BEng. or equivalent degree in mechanical engineering or an allied engineering discipline.
Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer status from a recognised engineering council or professional engineering licensing board is preferred.
Experience in executing Middle Eastern projects, brownfield experience and familiarity with Aramco standards and specifications is highly desirable.
At least 10 years of Rotating / Packaged Equipment related experience in Petrochemical, Energy Transition or Oil and Gas industry.
Pre-FEED and FEED experiences in related types projects.
Required Knowledge and Skills
In depth knowledge of rotating / packaged equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines, water treatment equipment) and electric motors.
Strong background with API 610 Centrifugal pumps and API 617 Centrifugal Compressors and gas seal systems. Experience with Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, and reciprocating compressors is beneficial.
Applicant should be able to identify specific equipment services such as Air Compressors, Steam / Gas Turbines, API Pumps, Cryogenic Pumps, Packaged Equipment (raw water treatment, waste water treatment, sludge handling, chemical injection, N2 generation). …
Strong working knowledge of industry codes and standards such as ASME, API, BS etc. as related to the equipment responsible for.
Knowledge of field installation / commissioning activities for rotating / packaged equipment is preferred.
Experience participating in model reviews and equipment walkdown at vendor’s shop. Coordinate with other disciplines, vendor and client to resolve comments resulting from model reviews and equipment walkdowns.
Broad knowledge of the application of Engineering to plant constructability as applied to construction methods and materials.
Understanding of the roles played by other departments on projects including basic construction practices.
Understanding of Engineering planning and control methods.
Able to work with minimal direct supervision of day-to-day tasks (issue datasheets, material requisitions, bid evaluations) to meet project goals for cost and schedule.
Skilled in oral and written communication. Able to work in project groups with shared-work teams globally.
Able to identify technical hurdles and / or design issues proactively, to address them ahead of project critical path.
