Overview
JOB SUMMARY : The Credit Controller is responsible for managing the company’s credit policies, ensuring timely collection of receivables, evaluating new credit requests, and maintaining positive relationships with clients while safeguarding the company’s financial health.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate new credit requests and conduct credit checks on potential clients.
- Set up and monitor credit terms for new and existing clients.
- Manage and collect outstanding debts from company debtors within agreed timeframes. Negotiate repayment plans with clients where necessary.
- Ensure the collection of all payments and manage overdue accounts.
- Respond promptly to client inquiries related to billing, credit, or payments.
- Process invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Prepare monthly statements and financial reports for the company accountant.
- Maintain and reconcile the sales ledger.
- Liaise with customers, the sales team, and other departments to resolve issues relating to accounts receivable.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.Proven experience as a Credit Controller, Accounts Receivable Clerk, or in a similar role.Strong knowledge of credit and collection processes.Excellent communication and negotiation skills.High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel).Seniority level
