WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
Coordinate all Safety activities across the BUL site.
Supervise Safety, Health & Environmental aspects related to the work of external consultants and contractors, as well as in-house preparation of plans, specification writing, and inspection of construction or project work.Develop and implement the annual Safety Training Plan based on site Risk Assessment and Skills Gap Analysis; conduct training sessions for all staff and contractors accordingly.Safety ActivitiesPerform daily follow-up on closure of safety hazards (unsafe conditions).
Conduct weekly follow-up on Safety Engagements by the Site Leadership Team.Monitor and ensure closure of Safety Kaizen (improvement) actions with stakeholders.Legal & Company StandardsMaintain comprehensive knowledge of national safety laws and regulations (Saudi Building Code, MODON Safety Regulations, Saudi Civil Defense Regulations) and Unilever’s environmental policies, procedures, and standards. Ensure local practices align with these requirements by revising systems when necessary.
Recommend compliance measures for all applicable environmental regulations, including :Wastewater Treatment (ETP Operation)Used Oil Handling and DisposalSolid Waste Management and DisposalRecycling Processes for recyclable wasteDisposal procedures for hazardous and non-hazardous materials / chemicalsDisposal of written-off and expired chemicals and materialsEnergy and water conservation initiatives within the factoryISO 45001 / ISO 14001Conduct internal environmental audits and implement preventive measures.
Serve as the factory representative for ISO 45001 and ISO 14001; lead annual external audits and manage re-certification audits every three years.Ensure timely closure of all gaps identified during audits.World Class Manufacturing (WCM) – Safety & EnvironmentDevelop and execute activities / actions aligned with WCM standards for the Safety & Environmental Pillar.
Safety Risk Assessment & Incident ManagementLead site Safety Risk Assessments and Risk Predictions (location and task-based).
Prepare and enforce Incident Management Protocols, ensuring all incidents are captured and investigated thoroughly.Update Risk Assessments after every incident and annually.Process Safety & Chemical ManagementLead the factory’s Process Safety agenda.
Ensure routine Process Safety Hazard Analysis (HAZOP) for new and existing installations.Implement actions per PSM standards for all critical pressure equipment.Manage combustible dust and flammable liquids safety.Review chemical storage, handling, transportation, usage, and disposal from environmental and safety perspectives.Conduct chemical / environmental risk assessments.Logistics SafetyLead the factory’s Logistics Safety agenda.
Conduct quarterly warehouse safety assessments using the approved checklist.Perform annual rack safety assessments and lead improvement projects.Safe TravelConduct route risk assessments.
Deliver driver safety training programs.Perform safety inspections for cars and shuttle buses.Monitoring & Highlighting ImprovementsMonitor daily Safety KPIs, including incidents, top hazards, and safety engagements.
Monitor daily Environmental KPIs (water consumption, energy consumption, CO2 emissions, waste generation).ReportingPrepare monthly reports for Safety KPIs : number of incidents, TRFR, number of safety trainings and training hours, safety engagements by management and shop floor teams, action closure status, monthly Safety KPI reports on Unilever SPR platform.
Prepare monthly Environmental KPI reports : water and energy consumption, hazardous and non-hazardous waste, CO2 and SOx emissions, COD load and wastewater disposal, submit on Unilever EPR platform.Ensure all reports are accurate and submitted on time.PPE & Emergency Room Stock ManagementConduct annual PPE reviews based on Risk Assessment and update as needed.
Perform weekly stock checks of PPE in the Emergency Room.Training & CommunicationLead information campaigns on safety issues / topics and lessons learned using visual aids on SHE boards and factory display monitors.
Organize and deliver environmental training for employees.Prepare and execute the annual SHE training plan for the site.Arrange annual mock drills and training for the Environmental Emergency Response Team (Fire, First Aid, Spill Hazmat Control).MeetingsAttend BeSAFE committee meetings and present safety performance updates.
Lead reviews of ongoing, completed, and planned safety projects.Participate in WCM and daily production meetings.External EngagementCoordinate safety and fire drill activities and other external programs with MODON, Chamber of Commerce, etc.
ETP OperationsOversee ETP operations.
Perform daily checks and follow-up on incoming and treated wastewater parameters (pH, COD, etc.).Manage chemicals and overhead expenses for ETP operations.Scrap ManagementOwn and manage the scrap area.
Oversee disposal of resalable scrap and waste through contracted third parties.Prepare sales invoices for submission to the Commercial Department for payment collection.SustainabilityCoordinate environmental activities such as tree planting and other external programs with MODON / CoC.
Lead quarterly engagements to improve environmental awareness.Chemical ManagementReview chemical storage, handling, transportation, usage, and disposal from environmental and safety perspectives.
Conduct chemical / environmental risk assessments.UtilitiesPerform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reviews of operations (inspection and maintenance) for boilers, steam systems, air compressors and dryers, HVAC systems, chillers; follow up on closure of utility-related actions.

Experiences & Qualifications
At least 3 years of experience in SHE and sound knowledge of Saudi local laws.Must have an engineering degree or equivalent.Skills
