MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Develop and implement TAWAL’s data governance, privacy, and open data frameworks, policies, and procedures.
- Establish data ownership and stewardship roles and ensure adoption of governance practices across all business units.
- Oversee data classification, metadata management, data cataloguing, and data quality monitoring activities.
- Lead compliance with data privacy regulations such as PDPL and GDPR, ensuring effective data protection practices.
- Manage personal data incidents and breaches, including response plans, investigations, and regulatory reporting.
- Handle data subject rights requests (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability) within legal timeframes.
- Conduct privacy risk assessments, Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), and third-party due diligence checks.
- Manage the publication of open datasets and coordinate responses to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.
- Track and report data governance, privacy, and open data KPIs and progress to senior management.
- Lead training and awareness programs on data governance, privacy, and open data to build organizational capability.
- Monitor emerging data regulations and best practices, recommending updates to policies and controls.
- Performs other responsibilities and tasks as directed by the Line Manager in order to meet Section / Department objectives.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications :Bachelor's degree in information technology or a related fieldMasters in data Protection or a related field is preferred.Certifications such as Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), Certified Information Privacy Technologists (CIPT) will be preferred.6 Years of experienceStrong knowledge of data governance frameworks, data management, and privacy regulationsStrategic planning, program and project managementLeadership and people managementStrong analytical thinking, problem solving, and decision-makingCommunication, influencing, and stakeholder managementResults orientation and continuous improvement mindsetSeniority level
