Overview
The Cashier - Food & Beverage will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while efficiently handling cash transactions, processing payments, and maintaining accurate records at food and beverage outlets. This role requires maintaining a clean and organized work area, assisting with inventory, and ensuring a smooth flow of service for guests. The Cashier will work closely with food service staff to ensure timely service, support in restocking supplies, and deliver a positive guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Process cash, credit, and mobile payments accurately and efficiently, ensuring that guests receive the correct change and receipts.
- Greet guests with a friendly attitude, providing information about menu items, prices, and special promotions.
- Handle cash registers and POS systems, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and balances are maintained at the end of each shift.
- Maintain a clean and organized cash register area, ensuring countertops, registers, and other service areas meet cleanliness standards.
- Assist with restocking supplies such as napkins, straws, and other service items, ensuring that the food service area is prepared for peak periods.
- Provide support to food service staff during busy periods, helping to expedite orders and ensure timely service.
- Address guest inquiries and resolve complaints in a professional manner, escalating any issues to the manager when necessary.
- Assist with end-of-day cash reconciliations, preparing reports on transactions and balancing the cash drawer accurately.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of cash register supplies, such as receipts and bags, notifying management of any shortages.
- Follow safety and hygiene protocols, ensuring compliance with health regulations and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Support promotional activities, such as offering discounts or upselling items to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales.
Requirements
Education
A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is requiredExperience
0-1 years of experience in cash handling, customer service, or a food service environmentSkills
