Project Overview The Ar Rjum Project is a green‑field gold project comprising three open‑pit mining operations with associated waste dumps and ore stockpiles, a processing plant, tailings management facilities, and supporting infrastructure including water supply, power supply, maintenance facilities, offices, and temporary and permanent accommodation village. The project is located in the Central Arabian Gold Region, approximately 200 km north‑east of Taif, near Riyadh and about 26 km south of Al Mouwayh.
Job Summary Bechtel Global Logistics (BGL) seeks a Project Logistics Manager based in the Riyadh office to support the Ar Rjum Project. The role involves supervising logistics personnel, preparing bid proposals, managing contracts and budgets for the execution stage, and producing project deliverables such as Logistics Execution Plans and transportation procedures. It is a full‑time position with possible work‑from‑home options, requiring at least three days of in‑person attendance per week.
Major Responsibilities
Supervise a moderate‑sized logistics team and ensure project proposal work is supported by appropriate logistics staff.
Develop and review logistics staffing plans, budgets, execution plans, and procedures.
Monitor performance of logistics service providers, ensuring compliance with the Bechtel Supply Chain Governance.
Negotiate logistics agreements to maximize commercial and technical interests.
Prepare logistics reports, metrics and studies for management review.
Plan, conduct, or arrange training for project logistics personnel.
Perform project logistics performance reviews and implement improvement initiatives.
Integrate safety requirements and measures into all logistics activities.
Collaborate with project management to review logistics strategies considering cost, risk, and schedule.
Provide cost, transportability, service and terms analysis to support proposals and material purchases.
Represent logistics at supplier / contractor kickoff meetings.
Prepare and present commercial bid tabs, commitment authorizations and contract documents for approval.
Oversee domestic and international shipping responsibilities, ensuring timely and economical delivery.
Enter shipment tracking data into the Transport Management System (TMS) for status visibility.
Manage invoicing and claims resolution in accordance with project procedures.
Lead logistics studies, including site and supplier facility visits.
Interact with senior management on functional and customer matters.
Establish and enforce adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans and performance requirements.
Education And Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s or master’s degree (or international equivalent) and 13 to 15 years of relevant experience, or 17 to 19 years of relevant work experience.
Experience in home, field, and deployed project environments preferred.
Proficient knowledge of transport assurance preferred.
Experience with medium‑ to large‑scale projects highly regarded.
Required Knowledge And Skills
Proficiency in English; Arabic is advantageous.
Knowledge of Saudi Arabian import / export formalities and processes.
Experience with multimodal transport modes (air, sea, LCL, breakbulk, etc.).
Knowledge of marine conveyance chartering.
Understanding of domestic and international trade terms (Incoterms 2020).
Knowledge of industry packing, making, and shipping requirements.
Commercial and contractual acumen.
Ability to solve complex issues creatively and effectively.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
