Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Associate Director of Infrastructure to join a leading international consultancy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in the Middle East, leading multidisciplinary teams on large-scale infrastructure, highway, and utility projects of city and masterplanning.

This is a client-facing leadership role, responsible for the successful delivery of complex infrastructure design portfolios, ensuring strategic alignment, and technical excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the design and delivery of infrastructure projects, including highways, utilities, and site-wide infrastructure
  • Oversee multidisciplinary project teams
  • Act as the client’s primary point of contact for all infrastructure-related matters, ensuring satisfaction, quality delivery, and commercial performance
  • Contribute to the planning, design strategy, and execution of infrastructure works for large-scale developments
  • Work closely with UK and UAE Cities teams
  • Support cities team on advisory work
  • Ensure all designs comply with local and international standards, regulations, and best practices
  • Lead stakeholder engagement and interface management with government authorities, municipalities, and developers
  • Manage budgets, project timelines, and resource allocation to ensure optimal delivery
  • Provide technical and strategic input during project bidding, procurement, and negotiations
  • Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities, preparing proposals, and presenting to clients

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Chartered Engineer status or equivalent preferred
  • Strong background experience in infrastructure design and delivery, with significant experience in the Middle East
  • Demonstrated experience leading the design and delivery of highways, utilities, and infrastructure at urban and masterplan scales
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, capable of overseeing multi-office teams and coordinating across disciplines
  • Excellent client engagement, communication, and negotiation skills
