Production Engineer Welding, NBR role at International Maritime Industries .
JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE : The Production Engineer, Welding coordinates and supports all welding and construction activities for new rig builds, including work pack preparation, daily job planning, and cross-departmental interfacing to ensure safe and timely project completion.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the construction day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency and performance in accordance with project specification and budget.
- Supervise and lead a team of welding workers and supervisors in ensuring all welding activities are performed in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Assist in PQR and WQT for the project by communication with all related stakeholders.
- Ensure pre and post heating requirements are carried out based on material thickness, grade, and requirements.
- Carry out inspections as well as resolving and monitoring welding and rectification works.
- Ensure inventory of consumables is always maintained at required level.
- Study construction drawings and plan welding sequence in conjunction with KPI plan.
- Facilitate weekly schedule coordination meetings with all subcontractor foremen to outline requirements of work completion, and other issues as may be required including but not limited to manpower requirements, interference coordination, inspections, and sequence of work. Distribute three-week look ahead schedules and communicate schedule requirements with all subcontractors.
- Maintain a high-level control around the cost of all construction consumables and equipment utilized during the construction works.
- Implement, monitor, and drive the project schedule. Promptly notify management team of schedule and performance issues, and be proactive in anticipating potential problems that may impact the project performance.
- Ensure that HSEQ regulations and rig building job certifications are communicated to the project team on a regular basis.
- Identify work priorities, focus on the critical path, analyze work problems in writing with a problem-solving mentality, provide accurate supervision, and be prepared with a Plan B for any unexpected issues.
- Oversee delivery of all Inspection Test Records (ITR’s) under the relevant discipline by effectively delegating to the foreman and chargehands, maintaining focus on interfacing and coordination with other discipline supervision to remove blocks to achieving target dates.
Qualifications
Education : Bachelor Engineering Degree or equivalent.Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations) : 3G, 4G, and 6G certified (preferred).Experience : At least 3-6 years of experience in shipyard and preferably offshore activities and / or rig building. Experienced in handling rig building and similar offshore related projects which are of high value and with technical complexities.Senioritiy level
