Road & Transport Manager - Civil Engineering

JASARA PMC is a leading project management consultancy firm and we are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Roads and Transport manager to join our team. As the Roads and Transport manager, you will play a crucial role in managing the design, review and development of various projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the highest quality standards.

Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will be responsible for managing specific design and review processes during the various stages from conceptualization to execution, while adhering to client requirements and company standards. The role will be instrumental in collaborating with commercial, project management, engineering and design technical leaders to create opportunities for efficiency and innovation. The role is responsible for maintaining compliance with QA / QC procedures, including the deliverables review QA / QC process. Responsibilities

Lead the entire design process for roads and transportation infrastructure managing the entire design and construction process from start to finish.

Collaborate closely with internal teams, clients, contractors and stakeholders to fully understand project requirements and create innovative design solutions that satisfy client requirements and fully satisfies local codes and standards

Ensure smooth coordination with consultants, making sure they adhere to project timelines and meet our clients high-quality standards

Conduct regular design review meetings where you will provide technical guidance and support to our clients, consultants, contractors and team members

Proactively monitor and track project progress, promptly identify and resolve any design-related challenges or conflicts that may arise and report timeously on these

Efficiently manage and maintain meticulous project documentation, including design records, change orders, and necessary approvals

Maintain strict compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations to guarantee the success of each project

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, consultants, contractors and stakeholders to ensure effective coordination and integration of various design elements to achieve seamless progression from design, construction to final handover

Compilation and presentation of reports and visual presentations regarding designs, design reviews, cost analysis and progress on project tasks

Setup and chair meetings with the client, consultants, design team and stakeholders whilst capturing minutes of meetings as necessary

Comply with client's governance requirements

Oversee and manage all project interfaces within the delivery program.

Prepare and present design reports, presentations, and recommendations to stakeholders

Requirements

A 4-year bachelor's degree in civil engineering is necessary

An engineering master's degree is desirable

Registration as a chartered civil engineer is necessary (or similar)

Must have a minimum of 10-years roads and transportation engineering experience in design, detailed reviews, documentation and specifications, project management and staff coordination

Experience in the design of roads and highways infrastructure involving geometric design, pavement layer design and traffic engineering

Experience in underground civil utilities will be an advantage

Experience in construction oversight of roads and transportation infrastructure projects

We expect you to possess a strong knowledge of design principles, techniques, and best practices related to roads and transportation engineering

Proficiency in using engineering design software and related tools is necessary

Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget is necessary

Your experience in coordinating and executing design activities, managing design consultants, engaging with stakeholders and coordinating design team members is crucial for this role

Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be expected to collaborate effectively with our clients, consultants, contractors, multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders

Your strong problem-solving and analytical skills, coupled with attention to detail, will be invaluable for this position

You should be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with the ability to multi-task and prioritize your workload in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

Knowledge of both relevant industry and local standards, codes and regulations
