The Role The

CAD Technician – Airport Infrastructure

supports civil engineering teams in the design, planning, and maintenance of airport facilities including runways, taxiways, aprons, and terminals. The role involves preparing CAD drawings, conducting site inspections, and ensuring compliance with aviation and safety standards to deliver high-quality airport infrastructure projects (part of an Expression of Interest).

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and update CAD drawings and technical layouts for airport civil works.

Assist in design and planning of pavements, drainage, and airfield infrastructure.

Conduct site surveys, inspections, and material quality checks.

Support engineers in quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and project documentation.

Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and airport authorities to ensure compliance and safety.

Key Qualifications and Experience

Diploma or Associate Degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Technology, or related field.

5–8 years of experience in airport or civil infrastructure projects.

Proficient in

AutoCAD

and

Civil 3D .

Knowledge of

ICAO

and local aviation standards ( GACA ).

Familiar with surveying, materials testing, and construction quality standards.

Key Knowledge and Skills

Strong drafting and design skills in airport and civil works.

Understanding of airfield construction methods, safety, and compliance.

Attention to detail with good documentation and communication skills.

Team-oriented with experience in live airport environments preferred.

Awareness of sustainability and environmental requirements in airport projects.
