Responsibilities

Lead and oversee the design department, ensuring alignment with project objectives and industry standards.
Develop, implement, and optimize design strategies for oil and gas projects, focusing on heavy steel structures.
Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and design documentation.
Mentor and guide junior designers and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Coordinate with clients and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver tailored design solutions.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards throughout the design process.
Manage design schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to meet project milestones.
Drive the adoption of new technologies and best practices within the design team.
Prepare and present design proposals, reports, and progress updates to senior management.

Qualifications

Minimum of 10 year of experience in a design leadership or senior engineering role within the oil and gas or heavy steel industry.

Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary design teams and complex projects.

Strong understanding of engineering principles, design methodologies, and industry standards.

Excellent organizational and project management skills.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.

Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, office-based environment.

Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Design, or a related field.
