Overview
Job title : Crew Scheduler. The main role is to manage crew rostering and assignments according to rules and regulations and to assist operation activities by arranging crew required services. The goal is to optimize resources and minimize costs. The role requires critical thinking to consider factors such as crew member preference, government regulations, and flight requirements, and to plan for possible weather, air traffic, and operational disruptions to avoid delays. The nature of the job involves spending most of the time in front of multi-monitor computers and working day, evening, night shifts and weekends. Main Responsibilities
Prepare schedules : plan schedules for the aircrew. Examine criteria such as roster type, plane capacity, seniority, sick and holiday leaves, and employee preference, then send out finalized schedules as printed lists. Handle adjustments : respond to harsh weather, mechanical disruptions, and unexpected sickness and update schedules accordingly; notify relevant parties of issues or changes in a timely manner. Monitor flight operations / crew duty limitations : monitor operations, track progress and ensure crew duty time does not exceed limits as per GACA. Crew services arrangements : arrange all required operational services for the crew, including hotel, transportation, and ticketing services. Monitor crew activities : oversee reporting to duty, training, leaves, and other activities affecting operations and schedules. Ensure compliance : ensure flight processes comply with GACA regulations, department policies, and contract requirements. Crew Scheduler Skills and Qualifications
Knowledge of commercial / general aviation operations; familiarity with ground operations, schedule planning, and GACA regulations; ability to use complex, multiscreen software. Decision-making : select crew for flights and manage delays, with ability to communicate decisions to staff. Problem-solving : ability to resolve real-time problems under pressure by gathering information and identifying efficient solutions. Multitasking : manage multiple ongoing flights and crew members simultaneously. Interpersonal skills : build good working relationships with crew members and staff. Seniority level
