Chief Database Geologist
The work schedule is rotational : 6 weeks on and 2 weeks off
Scope of the Position
- The Chief Database Geoscientist understands both database infrastructure / management and exploration workflows.
- Adapts and customizes procedures and database structures to meet exploration team needs.
- Leads a team of database geoscientists to support and maintain the integrity and quality of exploration data.
Technical Skills
Extensive knowledge of SQL and SQL Server Management Studio.Experience with Fusion, DataShed, or Aquire.Experience managing geological databases at major or medium-tier mining companies with extensive project portfolios.Experience implementing database systems at new sites.Project design and maintenance expertise.Leadership in managing large datasets.Integration of data management with practical exploration.Ensuring geological data integrity and quality.Ability to integrate exploration software with SQL Server.Adherence to QAQC protocols and industry best practices.Facilitating data accessibility for users.Designing and updating data collection procedures and formats promptly.Training team members and users in data collection, importation, and management.Management Focus

Bachelor's degree in Geology or MSc in a relevant Geoscience discipline from an accredited institution.10-15 years of relevant experience in mineral exploration or development.At least 5-10 years of experience in geological database management.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong desire to learn technical skills for various projects.Familiarity with 3D modelling software (LeapFrog preferred).Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS or QGIS), SQL, Python coding, and experience with Fusion DB system.Flexibility, adaptability, and quick learning ability.Willingness to learn new technical software applications as needed.Disclaimer : Naukrigulf.com is a platform connecting jobseekers and employers.
