The Infrastructure team provides AWS and Amazon.com with the compute, network and data center capacity that are the foundations of the retail and cloud business.

Amazonis seeking a motivated and data‑driven category manager to support the EMEA region data center operations space. The candidate should have strong supply‑chain and procurement skills, analytical and financial acumen, communication capabilities, and a hands‑on passion to dive deep into processes used in our data center operations network. Additionally, the candidate must have proven skills in managing large‑scale supply‑chain and procurement improvement projects and a solid technical and theoretical understanding of Data Center Cabling.

Key job responsibilities

• Process bid requests and award vendor contracts.
• Understand Cabling / Fiber Optic theory and installation methodology.
• Ensure vendors deliver projects on time and on budget.
• Conduct quarterly vendor performance meetings.
• Be the point of escalation for vendor related issues.
• Ensure sufficient vendor capacity for projects.
• Track the on‑time starting and finishing of projects.
• Explore new ways of working that allow for faster project delivery.

A day in the life

As a team we manage all procurement activities with our Data Center cabling vendors. We are the point of escalation for issues such as on time delivery, security, Health and Safety, and Access. We work as a global organization to ensure global standardization on all processes and deliverables.
